ABLED LEARNING FOUNDATION

Abled Learning Foundation is a non-profit organization that caters to children with Learning Disabilities. It is the first organization in India focusing on helping children with learning disorders. It was founded in 2022 with the objective of raising awareness, removing stigmatization and facilitating the early identification of children with Learning Disorders through developing accessible tools and resources and supporting teacher training in elementary schools. We has conducted 12+ awareness campaigns and workshops and organized testing drives in elementary schools across India, having screened nearly 3,100 children in the age group of 5-9 years.  We have also started a Change.org petition demanding necessary legislation to mandate the periodical mass screening of children for Learning Disabilities in all elementary schools.

SWAP (1).png

Swap To Save is a non-profit organisation created to facilitate proper waste management in local communities. Swap To Save promotes the segregation of waste at grassroots-levels by organising unique and creative, incentivisation-based waste collection drives in communities.  It also organises awareness campaigns and webinars to educate people about environment friendly waste management techniques such as upcycling and composting. We have reached  8 communities across 3 states in India. I was also recognised as one of 4 Swachhta Saarthi Fellows under the second cohort of the Waste to Wealth mission, one of the nine scientific missions of the Prime Minister’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (PMSTIAC). Through the support of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Biotechnology and the Swachh Bharat Mission, I am involved in developing projects by leveraging science, technology, and innovation to create circular economic models that are financially viable for waste management to streamline waste handling in the country.

DysDiag

DysDiag is a novel risk assessment and screening tool for learning disorders in children. DysDiag caters to the three most common LDs - Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia- which are characterised by impairment in reading, writing and mathematics, respectively. Firstly, DysDiag digitises the presently used risk assessment tests for LDs into gamified, visual-based quizzes in order to make them more accessible. The increased amount of audio-visual content via animated graphics and cohesive storylines makes these assessments child-friendly, thereby helping increase child cooperativeness and reciprocity. In order to make screening and early identification of LDs more accurate and efficient, DysDiag uses Machine Learning in the form of Image Classification Models and a Facial Emotion Recognition Model. This not only makes the risk-assessment results more accurate but also solves the prevailing problems of subjective analysis or evaluator's bias, the requirement of training for scoring and delayed result generation.
